Facilities and services

Our facilities

Printing

Black and white and colour printing is available for a small fee. Print in A4 or A3 from our computers or your own laptop.

Study space

Whether you're studying or working, find desks, quiet areas and dedicated study spaces at Mablethorpe Library. 

Wi-Fi

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the library. You can log in on your phone, tablet or laptop. 

Parking

At Mablethorpe Library, we have limited free parking spaces, including accessible parking. 

Local Studies

We have a range of local studies resources for reference use covering the history of Mablethorpe and the surrounding area. Our collection includes:
  • Books: Covering the general history of Lincolnshire; alongside specific titles about Mablethorpe and surrounding villages, including Wrecks and Wreckers of Mablethorpe by Peter Chambers.
  • Directories: Kellys and Whites Trade Directories covering a variety of years between 1842-1937. 
  • Newspapers on Microfilm: Mablethorpe Leader 2001-2019, various editions of the Standard Newspapers (that include Mablethorpe) 1956-2000, Alford Standard Newspaper 1993-2007. A Microfilm Reader Printer is available to use. To book the Reader or check whether the year you want is available, please contact the team direct. 
  • Maps: OS sheet maps covering Mablethorpe and nearby villages dating from 1905, although the majority of editions held are 1950s with the latest 1988. 
  • Illustrations: A large collection of photographs featuring Mablethorpe and the surrounding area dating from the Victorian era. The majority of these photographs can also be viewed digitally within the library. 
  • Ephemera: A wide collection covering Mablethorpe and surrounding villages; including information about the 1953 floods and an original copy of the UDC Town Plan (including the Jellicoe proposals) for Mablethorpe circa 1954.

We have desks and quiet study spaces that are free for everyone to use at Mablethorpe Library. They're available on a first come, first served basis.
