Workout your way in the recently upgraded gym at Wantage Leisure Centre. Our fully equipped, air-conditioned gym features a wide range of cardio machines, resistance equipment, and a dedicated strength area – the ideal place to start your fitness journey.

Exciting upgrades in December 2024 include brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment to help you push your limits with cutting-edge technology. A bespoke functional fitness area has also been added, perfect for dynamic and high-intensity workouts.

Gym Inductions

If you’re using the gym, you’ll start with a 1-2-1 induction with one of our trained Fitness Instructors. They’ll tailor a personalised gym plan to suit your needs and introduce you to the equipment.

Our team are here to share their expertise, help you feel comfortable, and guide you in setting your fitness goals. If you’re experienced, you can skip the induction and get started straight away.

The gym is always staffed, so support is never far away. Just ask a member of the Health & Fitness Team or any staff member – we’re happy to help.

Junior Gym

These supervised sessions are a brilliant starting point for any child wishing to get fit and active in safe surroundings.

The sessions are aimed at children aged 11-17 years and when attending with an adult, are run 7 days a week so there's no excuse to miss a session. Unseprvised sessions are also available on the following days and times:

Monday to Friday - 3.30pm to 5.30pm

Saturday and Sunday - 9am to 3pm

 

All juniors are required to complete an induction with a member of the fitness team.

Personal Training

Here at Wantage Leisure Centre, we have a team of fully qualified and experienced personal trainers who are on hand to give you that extra bit of motivation and assist you with your training. Please speak to a member of the team who will put you in touch with a trainer.

Re-focus Sessions

Joining a gym is a big step for many of us. To help you stay on track and reach your goals, we offer regular re-focus sessions.

Every six weeks, you’ll have the chance to review your progress with a Fitness Instructor, update your programme, and keep your workouts fresh and challenging.

It’s a great opportunity to assess what’s working, identify areas for improvement, and tailor your workouts to your preferences, helping you stay motivated and get the most out of your gym experience.
