Whether you are a first timer or regular user, the new gym at Palmer Park Leisure Centre and gym must be seen to be believed. Following a fantastic refurbishment, you can now work out on one of our 100 gym stations, from cardio to resistance. All areas have the most up-to-date Technogym equipment. You can also try one of our many fitness classes on offer in our state-of-the-art studios or dedicated group cycle studio.
Our friendly fitness instructors are on hand to guide you through your workout and offer advice if required.
Gym Inductions
Your gym induction starts with a 1-2-1 chat with one of our qualified Fitness Instructors, who will help tailor a bespoke gym programme based on your specific goals and giving you better results.
You can choose between a 30-minute basic induction, where our instructors will give you a brief introduction to the gym, the equipment and health & safety advice, or a 1-hour Total Induction, where they will discuss your goals, write you a programme and give an overall health MOT.
Refocus sessions
Our refocus sessions are developed specially to refresh your workout programme every 6 weeks so you get the most out of your workouts. Our Fitness Instructors will work with you to design a dedicated programme to suit your fitness goals and ability. All of that is to keep you motivated and focused on what you want to achieve.
We also offer 'Ask the instructor' sessions where Fitness Instructor will be available on the gym floor to advise and answer any questions you may have.
Junior Gym
Our junior gym sessions offer 11-17 year olds the chance to enjoy the gym with specialised guidance from our experienced fitness instructors. Juniors are given dedicated time slots:
Monday - Friday 15:00 17:30
Saturday & Sunday 09:00 - 17:00
As part of the membership, juniors will have access to gym equipment including:
Bikes
Treadmills
Cross-trainers
Group Cycle classes
Staff will be present to supervise and assist, they will also be on hand to show users how to enjoy the equipment safely, with the use of planned exercise programmes.

Now Introducing our Programmable Gym.
The programmable gym invites groups such as seniors, women’s only, Healthwise customers and juniors to the safe, controlled environment. The adaptable gym will be a great place for beginners to experienced gym users.
The gym will be opened with a programme designed to allow different groups of the community to use the gym at different times.
The gym includes various pieces of equipment from the typical cardio machines like treadmills and cross trainers, resistance machines like leg press and chest press as well as a functional space with dumbbells and kettlebells.
Adult and Junior Gym
Adult and Junior gym sessions are a great way to spend some valuable time together while staying active. As a way to get more juniors more active, more often, our Adult and Junior Gym sessions allow pre-paid adult members to bring a junior from 9 years old along with them for free.
Start building up those fitness habits from the yong age and join the gym with your child. This is not only good for both of you to stay healthy and fit, but will also support that bond building by spending more time together.
