On Tuesday the 7th of January, we visited the Bedford Food Bank to deliver our Centre's and Kempston Pool and Fitness donations whereby we managed to collectively raise enough to feed 157 people in need!

In the span of 11 weeks, and over the Christmas period, the local community and members of both Centres donated their extra food and drink to support those in need.

The delivery welcomed various non-perishable items, soups, pasta, and sweet treats.

We introduced this initiative to not only alleviate hunger and reduce food insecurity within the community, but in hopes of supporting our community and reminding them that they aren't alone during the difficult times.

We understood - and continue to do so - how difficult times can become, juggling the high demands of everyday stresses, that we sometimes struggle to make ends meet.

"We're over the moon to deliver these goods to Bedford Food Bank so soon. Especially following Christmas, traditionally known as an expensive time of the year, for us all. It's incredible to see such great charity", our Community Sports Manager, Aaron Colbert, expressed.

Whilst we strive to form a strong and resilient community, it is important to remind ourselves to stay positive and help each other build solutions to make the food system better for everyone.

For that reason, we will continue to keep our collection points open with the hope of bringing more to Bedford Food Bank and helping more people. Especially with the declining temperatures we are experiencing, we need to support one another and prevent hunger in the more vulnerable.

Donations can continue to be made at John Bunyan Sports and Fitness, and Kempston Pool and Fitness, expanding further within the Partnership with a collection point now at the Bedford International Athletic Stadium.

Please include non-perishable food and drinks, including tinned, long-life and packet foods.

Thank you to everyone who have helped us in making this possible!
