Walker Activity Dome

Walker Activity Dome is located on the East Side of Newcastle approximately 2.5 miles from the city centre. The building has a long history dating back to November 1965 when it first opened. Locally it is known as ‘The Dome’.

The venue boasts a 36x36m main sports hall with a capacity of up to 2000 spectators including 800 on bleacher seating and 200 on the balcony overlooking the sports hall. In addition to the main hall, we have various meeting rooms and activity rooms around the building which can be utilised for various activities. Local amenities include premier shops and takeaways and if you venture a little further there’s places to shop and eat.

The arena is dome shaped at 36mx36m and perfect for sporting events such as boxing, MMA and Mauy Thai. You'll have access to changing facilities, meeting and function rooms.

Accessibility- The venue is fully accessible. There are limited accessible parking spaces available. 

How to get here

We are accessible on bus routes which include a few minutes walk to the venue or via the metro with an approximate 20 minute walk to the venue. The venue also has free parking spaces
