Built in 1910, Bath Pavilion is a splendid Edwardian period building, constructed in sandstone, typical of most of Bath’s architecture. Its vast internal proportions offer a unique and versatile space to suit all types of formal and informal events.

Bath Pavilion comprises of a huge auditorium, raised stage, large entrance lobby with a licensed bar, café area and a convenient kitchen. Any of the beautiful spaces within Bath Pavilion can be hired and transformed to create the most discerning luxurious surroundings customised down to every last detail by our friendly experienced staff, to make your event a truly special day for you and your guests.

Roller-skating

Roller-skating

Bath Pavilion has been hosting outstanding roller-skating disco sessions for over 100 years at its iconic venue in the heart of Bath. Whether it is a family day out or just an evening with some friends, We cater for all with our family sessions every Monday and Wednesday, as well as adult-only sessions (16 years and over). Family sessions run 4.30pm until 6.30pm, and we provide refreshments in our café. Adult sessions run 7.00pm to 9.00pm and include a bar which serves soft and alcoholic beverages. Join our fun-filled sessions with games, including activities such as Dodgeball, Bulldogs, speed-skating, and much more. Bookings can be made in advance on the “better UK” app or through the website. You can also use this to check for any cancelled sessions.

Our party packages are available for booking on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm and are the ideal way to bring a dose of fun, adventure and thrill to your child's special day.

Price: £14.00 per person inludes: entrance, skate hire, roller-disco, food and unlimited squash.

How to get here

It is centrally located in the heart of Bath, between Bath Rugby and Bath Cricket Grounds with good parking facilities, easy access to both the Bus and Train stations, with direct National Rail Links to London. It is close to National Chain Hotels and charming Boutique Hotels, and a short walking distance into the town centre.

By bus- Bath bus station is a 10 minute walk away. The closest bus stop is called North Parade and serves buses; 19, A4, D1X and X39. 

By train- Bath Spa rail station is only a 10 minute walk away from the venue. 

Venue history

Bath Pavilion was originally designed and built as Baths’ premium venue for recreation and entertainment, with over 100 years history for holding live music. Bath Pavilion is situated between the Bath Rugby Club and Bath Cricket Ground on land forming part of the original Bathwick Estate owned by The Forester Family. The Bath and County Recreation Ground Company (Ltd) formed in 1894 originally opened the building in 1910 as the Somerset County Skating Rink offering all year round roller-skating. It was a premium venue with a solid rock maple floor and three sessions a day held to live music entertainment as well as offering food and refreshments. Unusually it was the third roller-skating rink in Bath competing with two other venues in but it remained as one of the largest in the County of Somerset attracting visitors from far and wide.

Bath Pavilion was later bought by the local Bath and North Somerset Council and in November 1930 it renamed the building “The Bath Pavilion” and reopened it to the Public as a Music Concert Hall. The very popular and community focused Mayor of Bath, Mr Alderman T.Sturge Cotterell MBE.JP, had been very much behind the reopening of the building and his intentions was to turn it into the finest music entertainment venue in Bath.
