Room hire

Welcome to our comprehensive room hire service within Greenwich Libraries. We offer a diverse range of curated spaces designed to cater to all your needs. Whether you’re planning a small meeting, an interactive workshop or even a children’s arts and crafts session - we have just the room for you.

How to book a room

Access the room booking portal. Select your preferred date and time slot for your chosen room.
Add any special requests or requirements.* Once you're happy with your selection, check out.
Create a Greenwich libraries account or login. 
Complete your booking
Complete your payment and wait for a librarian to confirm your booking via email.

Small meeting rooms

These rooms have a capacity of 2-10 people, so are ideal for hosting smaller meetings, interviews, and workshops.

Which rooms are available?
There are 3 small meeting rooms available at Plumstead Library and 2 small meeting rooms at Woolwich Library.

Who are they suitable for?
These rooms are ideal for students, working professionals, community groups, study groups, and other smaller meetings.

What facilities are included?
Most of our small meeting rooms include free Wi-Fi and other facilities, like a projector, and are available upon request. 

Large meeting rooms

These rooms have a capacity of 10-25 people, so are perfect for training sessions, art events and children's parties. Our libraries are available to hire out too during closed hours.

Which rooms are available?
There are two large meeting rooms available at Woolwich Library and one at New Eltham Library.
 
Who are they suitable for?
Ideal for businesses, community groups, children and parents, and anyone requiring a larger meeting space for collaborative endeavours.

What facilities are included?
Most of our large meeting rooms include free Wi-Fi and other facilities e.g. projectors are available upon request.

Events spaces for hire
Woolwich library can be used as an impressive function space outside of opening hours.

Who is this service for?
Our event spaces cater to a diverse array of needs and are suitable for community gatherings, corporate events, lectures, workshops, and public functions.

What facilities are available?
Our function rooms include Wi-Fi, projectors and screens, flip charts, pens, and a limited selection of HDMI/USB C cables. Further facilities such as light refreshments and crockery are available at an additional fee. Please see individual listing pages for details.

What are the standard room hire rates?
Standard rates for room hire vary based on the type of room and its location. Get in touch with your local library to find out more. 
Are there any discounted rates on room bookings?
Some function rooms offer a discretionary discount that's negotiable with the Head of Library Service. You may also speak with the Library Service regarding a discount on bulk or regular room hire.
My local library doesn't have any meeting rooms - can I visit another location?
Yes! Whether you're a member or not, everyone is welcome at our room hire venues across our locations.
