Orpington Library Refurbishment: Temporary Closure Notice
From Saturday 1st March 2025, Orpington Library will open in a temporary location at Unit 27, The Walnuts Shopping Centre (near the Central Atrium), Orpington, BR6 0TW. The library will be operating normal opening hours with adult and children's lending, a programme of activities, PC access and printing services. Please note: payments by card only at this time.

For late night opening on Mondays and Thursdays, access to The Walnuts Shopping Centre is available from the Walnuts Square entrance only between 5.30-7pm (High Street entrance closes at 5.30pm).
The refurbishment programme for the current Orpington Library is due to be completed in Autumn 2025.
Mottingham Library: Closure for refurbishment

The London Borough of Bromley will soon commence works on the refurbishment of Mottingham Library, closing temporarily from Friday 11 April 2025.

GLL is working in partnership with Bromley Council to accommodate these works, which are expected to be completed by late Summer 2025. 

Please note that this will involve gradually moving library stock throughout March and April, so there may be some disruption to the service ahead of this date.

Thank you in advance for your patience during this period. 

A temporary programme of library activities on Friday mornings will start from Friday 25 April 2025 at Mottingham Methodist Church Hall, 62 Mottingham Road, SE9 4QR: 
9.45 - 10.15 Baby Rhyme Time (birth - 18 months)
10.30 - 11.15 Toddler Time (ages 18 months - 4 years)
11.30 - 12.30 Adult Coffee Morning drop-in including a London Talk once a month.
 
The nearest libraries during this closed period will be Chislehurst and Burnt Ash Libraries.
