Each week we run numerous activities and sessions for over 60's to get involved in.
Our gym is a friendly, open, bright space with the latest equipment for all needs. On joining you can book a gym induction with our Fitness Instructors who will be able to give demonstrations, advice on techniques and explanations of the benefits of different machines and exercises. Gym inductions are available any time, so please book as many as you need to feel confident. We have a range of inclusive equipment for more information on accessibility please click here.
We set up multiple different activities in our sports hall, including Badminton, Table Tennis, Pickleball. All equipment is provided, but participants are of course welcome to bring their own.
Swimming is available throughout the day with swim for fitness and swim for all session’s. Swimming is a great all over body work out and suitable for all swimming abilities. There are lanes in all sessions with fast, medium and slow option. Swim for Fitness sessions are structured lane swimming, while Swim For All are open sessions with less lanes.
Lockers take £1 or a shopping trolley coin. These coins are returned after use.
The changing rooms have a mix of different sized cubicles, and there are open showers, and private showers available. In regards of accessibility both pools have accessible stairs with hand rails and we have a pool hoist if required. Shower seats are available including accessible changing rooms with a hoist. We have a jam-packed fitness class programme which caterers for all fitness levels such as Zumba, Aqua Aerobics, Pilates etc.
We also run a selection of specific basic fitness classes which are designed with simpler movements and lower intensity. These classes are perfect for people starting their fitness journey and older adults. We run the following Basic Classes:
Our experienced fitness class instructors are able to cater all classes for all levels.
The classes can be booked on the website or by using the BetterUK App. If you prefer our staff at the front desk can book these classes for you.

If you are aged over 60, why not join us every Tuesday between 11am - 1.30pm for a variety of social and fun activities. Drop in any time between this time slot.
This session includes optional activities which you can choose from including:

Each booking includes a complementary hot drink.
You only need to book into this session if you wish to attend the Aqua Aerobics Class as there is limited spaces on this class. A staff member will be present throughout this session and can help with any booking problems. Members can book 6 days in advance and non members 5 days in advance.
The sports hall is set up with different activities including a social area with table and chairs.
