Better leisure centres in south lakes - caring for local carers

To mark the 60th anniversary of the charity Carers UK Better leisure centre are partnering with the organisation to offer a programme of activities supporting the health and wellbeing of our local carers.

Throughout Active April  - 1st April  - 14th May Members of Carers UK or anyone who is in recipt of careers allowance will be able to take out membership at Better leisure centre at the discounted rate of £30.00 per month. This provides access to the Gym, Swimming, Fitness classes and Health suite.

The initiative aims to raise awareness of the importance of keeping active and highlight the benifits of moving more. Research by carers UK found that 6.7% of unpaid carers said that taking part in physical activity helped them to feel more connected to other people.

Better leisure centres in south lakes will also offer a free taster session during april, giving carers the oppertunity to try out new activities such as swimming, fitness classes and social sports.
