Link Centre skaters' superb success at British Championships
The British Championships 2024 in Sheffield was nothing short of extraordinary, and we couldn't be prouder of the incredible performance displayed by the talented skaters from Link Centre’s Ice Rink. With ten remarkable athletes competing across various age categories, we stood tall as the rink that brought home the most British medals, including a staggering four championship titles.
Basic Novice Champion : Leni WATSON
Advance Novice Ice Dance Champion : Annabel MANN / Jack HAMMOND
Junior Pairs Champions : Zarah WOOD / Alex LAPSKY
Senior Women Champion : Kristen SPOURS
Junior Ice Dance : 3rd Place - Kiah WHIELDON / Jamie HAMMOND
Basic Novice : 14th Place - Lowri BEST
Junior Women : 8th Place - Zinia WOOD
This event has now secured the selection for Kristen SPOURS at European Championships 2025.
Each performance was a testament to the hard work, dedication, and resilience these athletes put in daily. Chris Boyadji, part of the coaching team said "These incredible results are the consequence of the hard work that all skaters have put on daily basis. I'm proud, with my coaching team - Zoe Jones & Lloyd Jones - to see Swindon shining at the highest. We have put the rink back on the map of creating Elite Athletes and Team GB Athletes, and this is also due to the incredible support of GLL in giving us training ice time and our General Manager Clive Seabrook. Today, we are proud of having 4 British Champions and having secured a spot at European Championships, and most likely at World Championships and Junior World Championships. The World Championships 2025 in Boston is the qualification for Olympics 2026, and having Swindon being represented at the highest level means a lot to all of us"
A massive congratulations to all who took part and helped them to achieve their amazing success.
