What is Pickleball?
Founded in 1965 by three American dads, Pickleball is a fast-paced and family-friendly racquet sport that's quickly gaining popularity. Played on a court with a net, you'll use "paddle-like" racquets and a perforated ball. While the rules share similarities with badminton and tennis, one key distinction is that only the serving side can win a point, and players must stay within the court boundaries.
One unique rule to get the hang of is the "two-bounce" rule: the ball must bounce once on each side before players can start volleying. So, when the ball is served, the receiving side must let it bounce once before returning it, and the serving side must do the same before hitting it back. After that, it's all about volleying or groundstroking until the point is won.
Pickleball can be played as singles or doubles, making it an incredibly social and energetic game that's perfect for players of all ages and skill levels.
