Whether you want to de-stress after a hard day or achieve balance through movement, this martial art fitness class will help you enhance your mobility and strength as well as improve your overall wellbeing.
Based on deep breathing and slow movements, our Tai Chi lessons are low-impact and perfect for all ability and fitness levels. There are also many benefits of Tai Chi for both older and younger adults, ranging from increased mobility to an improved mental state, making it a great exercise option for everyone.
Prestwood Gym & Fitness Centre is located on Honor End Lane within the Prestwood Sports & Leisure Complex, which is also home to Prestwood Tennis Club and Prestwood Football Club. This complex is operated by Better, on behalf of the Prestwood Sports & Leisure Association for the benefit of the local community.
Better is a registered trademark and trading name of GLL (Greenwich Leisure Limited), a charitable social enterprise and registered society under the Co-operative & Community Benefit & Societies Act.
Better is a not-for-profit leisure and cultural Social Enterprise which means a business run on charitable lines, which is dedicated to improving the lives of its customers. Our ethos means any trading surpluses do not line the pockets of corporate fat cats or dividend-earning shareholders (we have none) but are reinvested in the service - removing barriers to participation, developing our staff and investing in grassroots sports development. Since 1993 we have been able to re-invest over £100m back into our facilities and services.
At Prestwood this investment has resulted in a brand-new car park (2016) with LED lights for improved member security. A gym changing room refurbishment (2018) with creation of shower cubicles, new flooring, benches and vanity units. A Fitness Studio expansion adding more spaces to classes (2022) with new air handling and class equipment. A full gym refurbishment (2022) which included expansion of the gym, creation of a welcome lounge, new flooring, lighting, decoration and replacement of the strength, cardio and free weights equipment. Most recently we added further new equipment (2024) including Assault Bikes, Ski Ergs, Cable Crossover and a Dead Press station.
