At Better, we want to help everyone get active. That's why we offer off-peak senior memberships at a lower price than our standard memberships for anyone aged 66 years and over.

Our Off Peak times are between 9.00am - 16.00pm on Monday to Friday and after 13.00pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Whatever you are looking to achieve we have classes for the whole community, from our standard fitness classes to classes specially for an older adults, we’ve got something to suit everyone. Our NEW classes include Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Group Cycle and Circuits.
If you’re looking for a low-impact way to get fit and healthy, swimming could be the perfect choice. Whatever your fitness levels, age or level of ability, you’re sure to find a session for you in our pool.
Our Swim for Fitness sessions take place in slow, medium and fast lanes, so you can take things at your own pace. If you’re looking for tips and extra motivation, our qualified coaches are on hand to discuss your training and technique.

Fulwood has 2 squash courts are available to hire. Whether you're looking to improve your skill, co-ordination and fitness, or want to try something new and fun, these sports make great healthy lifestyle options.
If you just fancy a game of squash, why not hire one of our courts. Play with friends and family from as little as £7.50 per 40 minute booking.

Full payment is required at the time of booking. No refunds are available for booking cancellations.
Lapping the pool is not the only way to get a workout in the water. Why not try something new with our water workouts. Combining aqua aerobics with strength and conditioning moves, a workout in the water will get your heart pumping without putting pressure on joints. Our Water Workout classes are available on Wednesday's at 15.00pm and 19.05pm.
The health suite at Better Fulwood Leisure Centre consists of a sauna and steam room, and is located just off poolside with a small relaxation space.
The steam room will help to relax, alter moods, ease muscle tension, cure and prevent cold and flu symptoms, combat stress. While the sauna not only feels good, it’s good for your body. Whether it’s the physiological changes that occur during the warmth of a sauna, or if it’s simply the time spent in the calming and still retreat of the sauna, every seasoned sauna bather agrees - it feels wonderful!
Healthwise introduces individuals to the benefits of physical activity in order to help manage and improve existing medical conditions. Healthwise aims to encourage people of all abilities to become and remain more active which should in turn improve knowledge, skills, confidence and improve an individual’s health and wellbeing.
The programme is for Preston residents or patients from a Preston GP surgery. It is designed to assist people who are currently inactive with medical conditions or other specialist requirements that prevent them from entering mainstream exercise. Common reasons for referral include:
High blood pressure
Diabetes
Obesity
Asthma
Circulatory / respiratory diseases
Depression and anxiety
Healthwise is a referral only programme which can be prescribed via your:
General Practitioner (GP)
District Nurse
Social Prescriber
Once your referral has been received, you will be triaged by the Healthwise Team via telephone consultation to assess your eligibility for the programme.

Sheila uses her extensive knowledge to help support customers both in the gym and group exercise classes. Whether you are new to exercise or ready for a new challenge, Sheila is on hand to help.
Meet Jen, one of our Fitness Instructors at Fulwood Leisure Centre. Jen is passionate about promoting a holistic approach to health and wellbeing. Jen enjoys teaching functional movements, increasing mobility and muscle flexibility. Jen teaches Yoga at both Fulwood Leisure Centre and West View Leisure Centre to people of all abilities.
