Changing Village Refurbishment at Southbury Leisure Centre

The refurbishments here at Southbury Leisure Centre continue to take place.

The latest project: A £2.4million refurbishment of our wet side changing village, as funded by Enfield Council

We understand it can be frustrating and inconvenient when a section of your local leisure centre gets closed off. But we assure you, this will be worth it in the very long run. We think a prime example points towards our newly refurbished gym. We feel a similar response incoming with our wet side changing village.

So you’re probably wondering, what is changing in the changing rooms (other than customers)? Included in the renovation of the wet side changing village is:

  • Brand new flooring
  • Brand new changing cubicles, both for single use and families
  • Brand new vanity areas, including brand new hair dryers and mirrors
  • Brand new toilet areas for both Male and Female
  • An updated ceiling grid, complete with brand new lighting

As we all know, a renovation or refurbishment does not come without its minor disruptions. The centre staff have put measures in place to ensure as minimal disruption as possible. During the refurbishment, we do ask that customers use the Café door to enter & exit the poolside area. We have allowed for 1 side of the changing village to remain open so customers still have somewhere to get dried and dressed. There is also the option of our dry side Male & Female changing rooms, which have also recently gone under their own refurbishment. Please rest assured that our pool programme will be entirely unaffected during the refurbishment period. The works are scheduled to last approximately 9 weeks.

We appreciate the centre has gone under quite a lot of changed over the past year. This has all been to make sure we provide our customers with the centre you deserve here in Enfield. We would also like to extend our thanks once again to Enfield Council, who have been very supportive in our efforts to make Southbury Leisure Centre better!
