WHAT IS PICKLEBALL?
Founded in 1965 by three American dads, Pickleball is a fast and family-friendly racquet sport. Played on a court with a net, you'll need "paddle-like" racquets and a ball with holes in it. While the rules are similar to badminton and tennis, players need to stay within the court boundaries and only the serving side can win a point.
Another basic rule which takes a bit of getting used to is the "two bounce" rule. Broken down this means that the ball is served and the receiving side has to let the ball bounce once before returning, the serving side then also has to then let the ball bounce once before returning again. After that, you can volley or groundstroke until the point is won.
You can play singles or doubles Pickleball which makes it a very social and energetic game.
