The Girls In Motion squash festival took place at the National Squash Centre on the 9th of March 2025. The fantastic turnout of 50 girls of all abilities aged between 5 and 16 kept all the courts thriving throughout the day. With the majority of the players from Manchester and the North West, a competition took place for the furthest distance travelled - Carlisle, Porthmadog & Beverley!

Current professional squash player Tesni Murphy (highest world ranking no. 9) attended the National Squash Centre to meet, play and inspire the girls. Closing the festival saw an exhibition match on the all-glass show court. The exhibition was an interesting game of 2 v. 1. It was Tesni v. Mia and Erin.

This event was the fourth edition of the Girls In Motion Festival after the previous successful editions. The festival aspires to encourage local clubs to engage more young girls playing the sport. Secondly, to inspire the girls, make the sport of squash more exciting and sustainable, and make them feel part of something larger than themselves.

The search for the next date now begins! A thank you to The National Lottery Community Fund for their generous support.
