Families Against Violence (FAV)
Fathers Against Violence (FAV) came into existence in March 2011, a birth drenched in tragedy and driven by unimaginable loss. It was founded by James Gregory, a father left shattered after his son was brutally murdered in a gang-related incident. This devastating event ignited a relentless resolve within him—a resolve to combat the very violence that stole his child.
From the ashes of his grief, James Gregory built FAV, a lifeline for other families ensnared in the vicious cycle of gang violence. The cause resonated, grew, and on March 2016, it became officially recognized as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, under the name Families Against Violence (FAV).
This isn’t just an organisation; it’s a movement born from heartache and fuelled by the unyielding determination to create a world where no family has to endure what James and his family did. The name “Families Against Violence” isn’t just a title—it’s a call to arms, a rallying cry for all those who refuse to let violence tear more lives apart. A movement which aims to empower families, youth and build stronger communities through education, sports, training & coaching and healthy activities.
Sessions are held here at Moss Side Leisure Centre every Monday 4pm-6pm, and every Wednesday 4.30pm-6.30pm.
