Manchester Diving Group is an independent, non-commercial club for recreation divers from all training backgrounds. Based in Chorlton-Cum-Hardy we dive around the UK and abroad. Our clubhouse is furnished with a well-stocked equipment room with a compressor and nitrox station. We have a boat house with a 5.5m Humber R.I.B. which is available to qualified club members, a seminar room for theory lectures and a large social space and bar. We aim to promote SCUBA diving in a safe and friendly way which emphasises the most important aspect of the sport - having fun!
If this is something that interests you, all you will need to do is get in contact with us to arrange a date. We'll ask you to come to the club building on Barlow Moor Road by 7:40pm on the evening of your dive. You'll meet your instructor, collect some appropriately fitted diving equipment and head to the pool from there. Your instructor will typically help you to get comfortable breathing underwater, get you started on controlling yourself and your equipment in the water, and then push you further if you're comfortable.
We don't normally train people under the age of 16, so we don't often offer try dives to under 15s. We're flexible about this though, please get in touch and ask us if you're not sure.
Session Day: Friday 8pm to 9pm.
Payment: £10 per session, £1 for lockers.
The Northern Wave Swimming Club is a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender swimming club based in centres across Manchester. Most of our members are LGBT+ but we do welcome friends of our community. We serve competent swimmers aged 18 years or over who want to improve their technique, train for fitness and/or compete in masters competitions. This session will be 3 lanes of coached swimming so we ask that you are comfortable swimming 2 lengths without stopping.
New members are welcome and can fill in the online form prior to attending or arrive 15 minutes before the session to register.
Session Day: Wednesday 8pm to 9pm
Payment: £5 standard/£3 concession
Method: Card payment on arrival or standing order

One Saturday morning in 1986, a couple of dads were kicking a ball about in Fletcher Moss Park with their sons. Soon they were joined by more boys and a game started. Who would have thought that this would be the start of Fletcher Moss Rangers?
With a need to build on our success, the next step was to attempt to gain F.A. Charter Standard status (now classed as FA Accredited). At the end of season 2001/2002, we applied for the FA Development Club Charter Standard. Putting many new policies in place, investing in placing people on FA courses to enhance the esteem of its members. After what was felt, a long painful wait, we had the great pleasure to be informed that we had been successful in our application. Fletcher Moss Rangers Football Club was now among the elite, just a handful of clubs with the Charter Standard Award.
Now having the distinct pride to run up to 30 teams. We can boast one of, if not the biggest but the most diverse junior football club in Manchester. The club has now grown to an enormous size with teams aged from 6 year old to young adult. Boys and girls, men and women.
The MYSL was set up to create an environment that gave our players the best of what a league could do. By creating a fun environment that challenged and help them develop, we wanted to offer the best place for them to love their football/futsal and develop into the best players they can be.

2005 - The birth of the Griffins!
Five Chorlton men sat in their local pub in May 2005 talking about the possibility of starting a football team for their children. This idea has developed into a FA Charter Standard Club that children from across the area have engaged in regulary.
Hough End Griffins now run teams from Under 7's to Under 16's, with four girls teams as well as a weekly Soccer School for 5-7 year olds, and has attracted some fantastic local young talent.
The aim is to involve local children and parents in developing a strong, local, community-focused club. Chairperson Ian "Boz" Walker says "We have a fantastic committee, great coaches and we have received great support from The Hough End Centre and Broughton Park Rugby Club. Exciting times are ahead!"
Director of Coaching and founder member Paul Evans likewise is excited about the future "We want to get as many kids as possible off the street and into sport. It's a great way of making friends and we have won many plaudits already with the style of football we teach where we encourage all the kids to play with a smile and express themselves"
