MORE SPACE TO MOVE AT HOUGH END LEISURE CENTRE
OUR GYM IS NOW 50% BIGGER
Whether you’re a first timer or a regular visitor, the extended gym at Hough End Leisure Centre must be seen to be believed. You'll be able to work out on over 100 brand new pieces of equipment, choosing from cardio, strength, resistance and functional.
You’ll also find an extended free weights area. All areas have the most up to date Technogym equipment and our instructors are on hand to guide you through your workout and offer advice if you need it.
NEW PROGRAMMABLE GYM SPACE
Our new programmable space gives us even greater flexibility with our timetable and allows us to enable exclusive use to targeted groups who required private space to work out in.
The programmable gym is open to all outside of scheduled sessions
We can host sessions for groups such as juniors, women only, older adults or disability groups as examples. This bright and airy space is located on the first floor and features brand-new Technogym equipment.
MORE FITNESS CLASSES
We've got an extended fitness class timetable for you enjoy, with 20 extra classes added!
We've got more group cycle bikes meaning more people can join in this popular classes.
And don't forget a membership at Hough End Leisure Centre also includes access to the fitness class programme at Whalley Range Sports Centre - even more classes for you to choose from!
NEW MULTI FUNCTIONAL COMMUNITY ROOM
Our new multi-functional room accommodates community sessions and meetings and provide us with an additional space for our fitness class programme and recreational sessions to take place.
The room can be split into two for even greater flexibility.
Featuring a licenced bar and with our fantastic outdoor balcony area it makes the perfect venue for events and functions to take place too.
OUTDOOR PLAYING PITCHES & NEW DEDICATED CHANGING ROOMS
This investment has also provided Manchester's first Football Hub venue in partnership with The Football Foundation and Sport England. September saw the opening of 15 improved grass pitches, providing a real community hub for grassroots football and sports activities with a 7 day a week, all year round programme.
They allow for a wide range of configurations and sports to be accommodated for club training, junior and adult match play and recreational programmes and activities.
We also have two brand new fence and floodlit artificial grass pitches and new changing room facilities to service all of our outdoor pitches.
Pitch bookings are handled by our partner, Play Football.
CAFE
Our new Cafe is the perfect social hub for family and friends to get together, so whether you want to relax after your workout, class or while you are waiting during swimming lessons, why not visit us. There's a great selection of hot and cold snacks and hot and cold drinks.
A great place to meet up after a game on one of our outdoor pitches too!
SUSTAINABLE TRAVEL
You’ll find a great range of alternative options for travel as our public transport network sees the centre served by:
Metrolink - the Withington tram stop is 100m away
Bus - an excellent bus service via routes 101,104, 105, 108 and 109 with a bus stop located to the front of the centre.
You’ll also find new cycle parking with 66 spaces to enhance sustainable and active travel to Hough End Leisure Centre.
We have of course extended the number of car parking spaces available to customers with over 89 additional bays.
