Gymnastics Success at Regional Competition
Sutton Sports Village and Sutton Gymnastics Academy are proud to say that one of our young gymnasts, Jamie, 12 years, was recently selected to enter into the London Men's Artistic Gymnastics Regional Competition. Not only did Jamie enter the competition but he also performed exceptionally well, returning home with a handful of medals!
Jamie came 3rd overall, but he also achieved individual medals on some of the individual disciplines, including bronze on the high bar, pommell, parallel bars and vault and a gold medal for his floor routine which was as a result of having the highest score on the floor for the entire day.
The Men's Artistic Gymnastics catergory he entered consisted of him having to compete and be judged on the following disciplines:
- Floor
- Vault
- Pommels
- High Bar
- Rings
- Parallel Bars
Jamie completed 6 weeks of training for the competition, showing the amount of effort and dedication required from young gymnasts to compete at this level. His success is testament to his hard work. This is a huge achievement and we are very proud of him!
Sutton Gymnastics Academy
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or elite gymnast, classes are available across all levels and forms of gymnastics; from floor and vaults squads to display work and women’s artistic events. Under the guidance of highly qualified British Gymnastics coaches, our classes and squads run 48 weeks per year and accommodate a variety of ages too; from toddlers, children, teens to adults, we have something for everyone.
Please note that demand for classes is very high and we have waiting lists in place for most classes. If you cannot find a space on your preferred course please send your enquiry through to suttongymnasticsacademy@gll.org so we can review your request.
Once a space becomes available we will contact you to advise how you can secure your child’s place. Please note that we can only hold spaces for a short period of time so if we do not hear from you we will offer the space to the next person on the waiting list.
