Over 150 Swimmers Shine at Islington Primary Schools Gala

On Friday, 7th March 2025, Ironmonger Row Baths proudly hosted the Islington Primary Schools Swimming Gala finals. This incredible event brought together over 150 young swimmers from local schools, with more than 300 enthusiastic spectators cheering them on from the stands. 

The evening was filled with excitement, energy, and positivity as pupils competed across a variety of races, showcasing their dedication and talent. The gala was a true celebration of community spirit, with students from various Islington primary schools giving their all to represent their teams and make their supporters proud. 

We were thrilled to see so many smiling faces and proud moments as children collected their medals for top three finishes. The relay races in particular created an electrifying atmosphere, with double points adding to the intensity and excitement. It was inspiring to witness the determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship on display throughout the evening. 

A huge thank you goes out to Islington Council's PE, School Sport and Physical Activity Team for organising such a well-structured and positive event. Also, thanks to the Anaconda Swimming Club for officiating the races, bringing their expertise and passion to ensure everything ran smoothly. 

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff and swim teachers at Ironmonger Row Baths, whose hard work and commitment were instrumental in the smooth running of the event. From supporting the young swimmers to ensuring the facilities were in top condition, their professionalism and enthusiasm played a huge role in the event's success. 

We are incredibly proud to have hosted this fantastic event, which not only highlights the importance of physical activity but also strengthens community connections. Seeing the hard work of pupils, school staff, and volunteers come together was truly rewarding.
