What Is Junior Gym?
Junior gym is a dedicated session for children between 11 and 17 years old to introduce them to working out in the gym and help them start their journey towards a healthy and active lifestyle. All sessions are supervised, with a member of the Fitness team present, to ensure they are working out safely. Membership also includes access to our Junior Fitness Classes that take place on the gym floor during the allocated sessions. Keeping everyone fit, active and healthy is important to us, so we want to ensure we offer a variety of fun activities. Sessions are included in the monthly membership or can be booked on a pay-as-you-go basis. All juniors are required to attend Junior Gym Induction before their first session.
Junior Gym days and times:
Monday - Friday, 4:00pm - 5:00pm and 5:00pm - 6:00pm
Saturday & Sunday, 12pm - 4pm
Junior Gym Induction
Before attending their first junior gym session, all juniors must book and attend a junior gym induction. These inductions are conducted by our Fitness Instructors who hold a level 2 qualification, and are conducted in small groups of up to five people. The inductions last 30 minutes and cover all health and safety information pertaining to the gym. Our Instructors will also explain gym etiquette, demonstrate the equipment that juniors are permitted to use during the sessions, and instruct on how to use it safely.
Junior Gym Rules
Due to high demand, there has been a recent change in how to book the sessions. Monday - Friday, there are now two bookable slots; 4:40pm – 5:00pm, and 5:00pm - 6.00pm. Juniors wishing to attend both, will require a booking for each slot. Juniors are required to vacate the gym when the sessions finish and are not able to stay between sessions.
At weekends, juniors can book their gym sessions between 12pm – 4pm and can book in any of the drip-feed 10 minute slots.
Juniors will have access to the majority of gym equipment including:
- Cardio machines (treadmills, cross-trainers, upright bikes, spin bikes, recumbent bikes, ARC Trainers, & rowing machines)
- Resistance machines* (chest press, chest fly, lateral row, cables pulley machines, leg press, hip adductor, hip abductor, lat pull down, shoulder press, leg extension, hamstring curl, & assisted chin-up)

Adult and Child Gym Session
Would you like to bring your child to the gym for free?
Our Adult and Junior Gym sessions allow our pre-paid adults to bring a child to the gym for free. The booking must be made by an adult who books the Adult and Junior gym session with their membership. Juniors must be supervised by the adults at all times. Adult and junior gym sessions are available weekends 3-5pm. The adult must actually supervise the junior at all points, and must take responsibility for the child. Only children between 11-17 are permitted into these sessions. The session is limited to one child per adult. If the adult isn’t supervising the child or the child misuses or misbehaves the both parties may be asked to leave.
