Junior Gym sessions and Fitness Classes are specially designed to meet the unique needs and interests of children and teenagers aged between 11 - 17 years. These sessions provide a safe and engaging environment where young individuals can develop their physical fitness, learn essential exercise techniques, and cultivate healthy habits from an early age. Our aim is to make fitness fun and educational, empowering for the next generation to embrace an active lifestyle and lay the foundation for a lifetime of well-being.
Adult and Junior Sessions
Southgate Leisure Centre recognises the significance of family time, particularly when it involves physical activity. Therefore, you can enjoy Adult and Junior sessions, which allows any pre-paid adult to bring a junior aged 11-17 for no additional cost.
These sessions not only create a safe and supportive environment for everyone to exercise but also present a special opportunity for families to enjoy quality, active time together.
Supervision: the adult/parent must actively supervise the child at all times and takes responsibility for the child's conduct and safe use of machines. Only children between 11-17 years are permitted in the session, and it is limited to one child per one supervising adult. If an adult is not supervising the child or the child misuses the gym equipment or misbehaves, both parties may be asked to leave.

Junior Gym
Dedicated Juniors Gym sessions for, 11–17-year-olds, are available at Southgate Leisure Centre with specialised guidance from our experienced Fitness Instructors.
Our fitness instructors will give participants a programme of activities to meet their individual goals, including use of cardiovascular and core strength equipment, helping young people to stay healthy and active. At your first session, the Fitness Instructor will also give you a complete induction to all the equipment and how to safely using it, an induction must be completed before you can access the gym.
