In a landmark weekend for English volleyball, London Giants Volleyball Club etched their name into history by winning the Men’s Volleyball Super League title for the very first time.

The victory, sealed at the Volleyball England Final 4 event at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, marks a stunning rise for one of the league’s newest teams.

Just one year after earning promotion, the Giants completed a fairy-tale season by powering through the semi-finals on Saturday 5th April, and delivering a composed, commanding performance in Sunday’s gold medal match to lift the national trophy.

Founded only a few years ago, London Giants began as a small, grassroots initiative fueled by passion, community spirit, and a vision to elevate volleyball in the UK. Fast-forward to today, and they’ve claimed the top-flight title in their very first season at the elite level — a true underdog story.

“We overcame a great deal of adversity and, considering the short time we had together, became a well-oiled machine by the end of the season,” said head coach Mihail Stoev. “This weekend was the cherry on top. The team never backed down and fought to the very end.”

Their meteoric rise reflects more than just sporting success — it’s a win for determination, unity, and belief. Built on strong values and an inclusive culture, the Giants now turn their attention to a new goal: representing England on the European stage.
