Our Seniors Activities are designed to keep you fit and active and provide opportunities to socialise and meet new friends. The activities are aimed at getting you out of the house and to make sure you are having fun and keeping healthy at the same time.
Swimming
Swimming is a fantastic, full-body workout that offers numerous health benefits for older adults, making it an ideal choice for seniors looking to stay fit and healthy.
Whether you’re honing your swimming technique, or just want to have a splash, you’ll find a wide range of swim sessions at New Barnet Leisure Centre.
Please remember that swim-safely rules apply.
Gym
At New Barnet Leisure Centre, our gyms have a range of equipment available to help you improve your health and well-being.
There’s also a range of fitness classes to choose from, including total body conditioning, aerobics and much more!
Walking Tennis
Our Walking Tennis sessions are for anyone who wants to play tennis, but at their own pace. Like other increasingly popular walking sports, such as walking football and walking rugby, it can be purely social. Or it can be pretty competitive, and a great way for people to keep playing the sport they love for longer.

Annual Better Club Games
Our annual inter-borough competition is held in autumn every year: come along to compete in a range of activities including badminton, darts, swimming... plus loads more!

Senior Outdoor Gym Sessions
Over the summer period, New Barnet Leisure Centre will host FREE Senior's outdoor gym workouts!
Everyone can use some fresh air and sunshine when taking part in physical activity and exercise. Sunshine naturally increases serotonin, a hormone that makes you feel good, and exercise itself produces endorphins, another feel-good hormone that boosts your mood and reduces pain.
