Welcome to Finchley Lido

Situated in the Great North Leisure Park,  Finchley Lido is a 25m outdoor pool. Open every weekend from 25th May 2024 until the school summer holidays when the lido is open every day, weather dependent. The outside temperature must be 22 degrees or above for the lido to open. 

Come down and enjoy our green space where you can sunbathe and enjoy some light refreshments of cold drinks, ice cream and snacks from our snack hut.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to book in advance?

Yes, to avoid disappointment please book your session in advance. Simply book via the Finchley Lido page on the Better app or online

How long can I swim for?

Our swim sessions are 50 minutes long. 

Can I just turn up?

Walk-ins may be available, please see at reception but to avoid disappointment during the summer months, it's best to book a swim session in advance. 

Can I bring umbrellas, deck chairs, snorkels, inflatables etc?

No, umbrellas, deck chairs, large inflatables etc... are not permitted at Finchley Lido.  

Is there a café at the centre?

You'll find a small hut by the outdoor pool where we sell drinks, light snacks and hot paninis.

How many sessions can I book a day?

You can book one swim session per day. Multiple bookings can be made during the week, as long as they are not on the same day.

 

What temperature is the water?

Finchley Lido is not heated and the water temperature depends on the weather. When it's hot, the outdoor pool can reach between 25-29 degrees.

 

Is there anywhere to change and leave my belongings?

You'll find changing cubicles and lockers where you can leave your belongings at Finchley Lido. 

 

How much are the lockers?

The lockers take a £1 coin which is then refunded after use. 

 

What does it cost to swim?

A non-member adult swim cost £7.10 and a non-member child swim costs £4.35. We do have a number of membership options, which can be discussed with reception at Finchley Lido. 

 

Can children swim?

Yes, children are welcome at our Swim for All sessions, however, our swim safety rules must apply.

 

What is the last entrance time?

This will vary depending on the day and which activity you are doing. Please visit our website or our page on the Better App for more info. 

 

 

Can I hire towels?

No, towel hire is not available at Finchley Lido. 

 

How can I claim lost property?

Please visit our reception to see if lost property has been handed in

 

Do you have swimming hats, goggles to purchase?

Yes, we do, the price of goggles ranges from £6 to £36, our swimming costumes range from £12 to £40 and our swimming hats are £6. 

Is parking available and if so, how much does it cost?

Parking is free in the retail park where you'll find Finchley Lido. 

 

Are changing rooms available?

Changing rooms are available. On the poolside, we have a mixed changing village and a family-changing area. We also have male and female dryside changing rooms for our gym and studio users.

 

Do the sessions still go ahead when it rains?

No, Finchley Lido's outdoor pool is closed when it rains. Your Swim for All booking is then valid for the indoor pool. 

 

Do you hold gender specific sessions?

We have women-only sessions on Thursdays between 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm and men-only sessions on Sunday between 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm these run in the indoor pools and not in the lido.
