Seniors' Club Session.

Workington leisure Centre is home to sessions that are aimed at seniors aged 66 and over. This fantastic initiative is designed to keep our beloved seniors active, form new friendships, and improve their social, mental, and physical well-being. We encourage everyone to join in and give it a go!

 

Multi sports

Multi sports activitys will take place every Tuesday morning in the Sports Hall from 17th September. These activities include pickleball, table tennis and badminton. 

It doesn't matter if you've never played before or you're a pro come along and give it a go.

Walking session

Come and join us on a Tuesday* where we enjoy the lovely flat walks surrounding Workington Leisure Centre whilst meeting new friends and socialising. After our walk we return back to the leisure Centre were we enjoy hot refreshments and biscuits.

Memberships for the over 66s at Workington Leisure Centre

At Better, we want to help everyone get active. That's why we offer discounted memberships for anyone aged 66 years and over. 

  

Senior membership benefits include: 

  • Gym facilities at Workington Leisure Centre, along with Cockermouth Leisure Centre, The Wave at Maryport, and Keswick Leisure Centre 
  • Access to many Instructor Led exercise classes including Aerobics, Water Workout, Steps and Zumba 
  • Use of the Sauna and Steam Room facilities, booking essential 
  • Access to all swimming sessions in both the Main Pool and Teaching Pool (Aqua Splash sessions excluded from membership)

Swimming

If you’re looking for a low-impact way to get fit and healthy, swimming could be the perfect choice. Whatever your fitness levels, age or level of ability, you’re sure to find a session for you in our pool.

 Our Swim for Fitness sessions take place in slow, medium and fast lanes, so you can take things at your own pace. These sessions are available everyday throughout the week and you can either book online or through reception
