Photography Exhibition: The History of Northcote Road
Celebrate Local Community and History Month with a photography exhibition at Northcote Library. Explore the history of Northcote Road with photographs provided by the Heritage service.
See how Northcote Road has changed over time with images dating back to the late 1800s and newspaper articles documenting the library opening in the late 1960s.
The exhibition will be on show throughout May during Northcote Library’s opening hours.

Start Up Wandsworth (BIPC Wandsworth) is pleased to collaborate with His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) to bring you a workshop which will demonstrate the key steps to take when registering as a Sole Trader for self-employment or when registering your small business.
During this session, we will cover your obligations to HMRC:
What to do if you are thinking of Self-employment to be your own boss.
We will explore how to register yourself and your new small business.
The self-assessment requirements you need to be aware of, such as the tax system, tax payments, how to pay and when (key dates for 2024/2025).
After the general overview, we will have a Q&A session for participants on registering for self-employment or registering their small businesses.

6-7.30pm Balham Library Creative LGBT History workshop for under 25s: Places of Community x Creative Writing As part of Liberty Festival 2025 and Wandsworth Borough of Culture, lesbian writer and historian Claude Graham is collaborating with Balham Library to deliver a series of three workshops aimed at 14 - 25 year olds to introduce participants to lesser-known LGBT stories, with a focus on lesbian and transmasculine histories.
