Free festivities after dark for World Book Night!

This year, Bromley Central Library will be hosting its first ‘World Book Night’ on April 23, offering an exciting array of fun activities around reading, writing and creating – and it’s all free!

Like its better-known cousin, World Book Day, World Book Night aims to promote the love of language, literature and using your imagination – but this time, focused on teenagers and adults rather than kids.

In fact, the Bard himself would undoubtedly have been keen to join in, having written the line, ‘Knowing I lov’d my books, he furnish’d me from mine own library with volumes that I prize above my dukedom’.

Attractions at World Book Night include the following –

We've got some fantastic local authors and illustrators coming along plus inspiring entrepreneurs and cracking performers - who needs sleep?!"
