This summer, children aged 4-11 can visit Lincolnshire Libraries across the county to join the free 'Marvellous Makers' Summer Reading Challenge, firing up their imaginations through the power of reading and creative expression.
Running from Saturday 6th July to Saturday 7th September, this year's Challenge celebrates kids' creativity and storytelling abilities. Children will be encouraged to explore new books and stories while taking part in free activities, from arts and crafts to music and more.
The bespoke Challenge artwork is illustrated by celebrated artist Natelle Quek, bringing the 'Marvellous Makers' theme vibrantly to life. By reading books and collecting incentives for every two books read young readers can foster their creative thinking skills over the summer break. Younger siblings can also get involved by taking part in the Marvellous Makers Mini Challenge.
During the school summer holidays Lincolnshire Libraries will be holding free weekly activities for their marvellous makers with crafts including making; a photo frame to hold their summer memories, a musical instrument to kick starts their bid for pop stardom and junk modelling sessions reusing and recycling everyday items to create something spectacular!
