We want everyone in the London Borough of Lewisham to get active, which is why we offer the Be Active membership to all eligible Lewisham residents.
Whether it is access to our gyms offering dedicated cardio, resistance, functional, strength and stretch zones, or taking a dip in one of Lewisham’s swimming pools; Be Active members benefit from reduced rates and some memberships even offer free pool and gym access.

This is a borough-wide membership which gives you FREE POOL & GYM access at Glass Mill Leisure Centre, Forest Hill Pools, Wavelengths Leisure Centre and Bellingham Leisure & Lifestyle Centre.

Members also benefit from up to 30% off non-member prices on selected activities such as fitness classes as well as a priority advance booking period of 7 days.
The prepaid monthly Be Active membership is a senior concessionary membership giving anytime access to the gym, swimming pools and fitness classes at Glass Mill Leisure Centre, Forest Hill Pools, Wavelengths Leisure Centre and Bellingham Leisure & Lifestyle Centre. Members also benefit from the 7 day priority booking of the specified activities.
Our monthly memberships are not annual contracts and can therefore be cancelled by giving us four weeks notice if you wish to cancel.
If you don’t want to just access the Better Lewisham centres, this membership gives nationwide access to 213 Better leisure centres across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Members get anytime access to the gym, swimming pools and fitness classes and their accompanying carer goes free. The 7 day priority booking benefit applies to this membership too.
There are a number of ways you can take out a Be Active membership. You can pop in to one of your local Lewisham centres and speak to our friendly concierge team or take it out online or via the Better UK app by following the steps below.
1. Download the Better UK app.
2. Select the home centre of your choice: Glass Mill, Forest Hill Pools, Wavelengths or Bellingham Leisure & Lifestyle Centre.
3. On the centre page, select Buy membership and select either Concessionary or Disabled under 'Who are you?'.
4. Choose your plan (monthly, annual or Pay as you Go) and click on Select under the Be Active membership, continuing with the sign up process.

Please be aware that ALL activities at Better leisure centres must be booked in advance either online or via the Better UK app. Members will not be admitted without a booked session.
