Good Friday Racing 2023
Lee Valley VeloPark is set to host a thrilling day of cycling on Good Friday, April 7 2023. Having hosted the cycling events at the London 2012 Games, we will once again welcome some of the best riders from around the UK and beyond to compete in races throughout the day.
The Good Friday Meeting, which was first held in 1905, has a long and proud history, and always welcomes entries from local clubs, elite development teams, and international riders, with everyone competing on a level playing field.
The race programme accommodates more than 100 riders and features sprint, endurance omnium and women’s omnium events, the Ron Beckett Memorial Elimination and the world famous Golden Wheel scratch race. Anthony Gibb, Managing Director at Full Gas Cycling Ltd described the event by saying “Good Friday has stood the test of time as one of the great British track meetings. Over the years it has seen the superstars of cycling from Chris Hoy, Jason Queally, Vicky Pendleton, Graham Obree and Bradley Wiggins to name just a few. It is one of the only meetings where spectators can see the very best of British track cycling taking on international competition in both endurance and sprint competitions for both men and women. The buzz around the event post covid, for both riders and spectators is really starting to build”.
