Lee Valley Ice Centre hosts successful World Inclusive Skating Championships
Lee Valley Ice Centre was full of excitement and energy as it welcomed the prestigious World Inclusive Skating Championships from 9 - 12 April. This international event drew in over 40 skilled skaters from a remarkable 12 different countries. With medals on their minds and dreams of being invited to compete at the Special Olympics, competitors gave it their all on the ice.
Over the course of four thrilling days, there were captivating performances in figure skating, synchro, and dance. Spectators marvelled at the remarkable talents displayed by skaters of all ages who showcased their prowess and grace on the ice in Lee Valley.
To add to the excitement, it’s been great to welcome esteemed guests such as Adele Roberts from Dancing on Ice and Marika Humphreys-Baranova, a distinguished former Olympic skater who handed out medals to the eventual winners of the competitions.
The World Inclusive Skating Championships not only celebrate athletic excellence but also champion inclusivity and the spirit of the skating community.
