Join us on Wednesday 7th August on our first Wellbeing Walk, from Liskeard Leisure Centre.

Our walks will be free and currently do not require people to book.

Staff will be there at 10.15am to greet you, introduce themselves, and explain where the route will take you that day.

The walks should take no longer than 45mins, on a terrain that is good, and no steep hills.

Our walks are gentle, and ideal for those wishing to start their journey on Wellbeing Walks.

Our walks will be both beneficial to your physical and mental wellbeing, with a chance to meet new people, chat as we walk, and best of all have a tea or coffee once back at the centre.

All you need is a suitable pair of shoes, trainers, or walking boots if you have them. Clothing that is not too heavy, but can keep you protected, and some water.

Liskeard Leisure Centre, are really excited to be partnering with Active Cornwall and Ramblers, to establish Wellbeing walks from our centre.

Who will be leading our walks? As Better Cornwall, we have staff who are both trained to deliver Ramblers walk training to community individuals who want to become Walk Volunteer Leaders, and staff who are also now Walk Leaders.

Are the walks safe? We have worked with our Community Team to ensure that our walks are safe, risk assessed, and variable for those with different needs, for example those needing sticks to aid their walking.

Why have we decided to partner with Active Cornwall and Ramblers? It is very simple, both have track records in providing support and training to ensure that we understand the requirements to delivering safe walks.

We echo Ramblers stance that 'Everyone can enjoy the pleasures of walking'.

We have some beautiful lanes and pathways around our centre that will enable us to deliver some relaxing and gentle walks.

We hope that introducing walks from the centre will encourage people in our community to get out more, become more active, and maybe feel less isolated.

Our team is here ready to welcome you, so we hope you'll join us on Wednesday 7th August, 10.30am
