Lee Valley Athletics Centre

For the purpose of these terms:
- LVAC means Lee Valley Athletics Centre located at the Lee Valley Leisure Complex, 61 Meridian Way, Edmonton, London N9 0AR.
- you means the customer, being any person taking part in any activity at LVAC.
1. Important Notices
1.1 By entering LVAC, you have accepted, and agreed to comply with, these LVAC Terms and Conditions.
1.2 In making a booking on behalf of a group, you are responsible for ensuring all group members comply with these LVAC Terms and Conditions.
1.3 To take part in the activities available at LVAC you should have an appropriate level of fitness.
2. Children and Young People
2.1 Children 11-17 years old must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult at all times throughout their visit to LVAC unless attending a supervised session or course.
2.2 A signed Parental/Guardian Consent Form must be submitted for participants 11-17 years old attending supervised sessions before the activity can take place (the form is available on our website, alternatively please ask us for a copy). If this form is
not submitted the booking will be cancelled and the cancellation conditions in clause 3 of these LVAC Terms and Conditions will apply.
3. Cancellation and rescheduling
3.1 If you would like to cancel a booking, you just need to let us know by contacting us by email at or by completing the cancellation form on our website.
3.2 Where we receive a cancellation request the following refund policy will apply:
3.2.1 All competition entry fees are non-refundable and non transferable.
3.2.2 For courses, track or room bookings:
3.2.2.1 for requests received at least 22 days before the activity start date a 75% refund will be given;
3.2.2.2 for requests received between 8 and 21 days before the activity start date a 50% refund will be given; and
3.2.2.3 for requests received 7 or fewer days before the activity start date no refund will be given.
3.3 Subject to availability, and at the sole discretion of GLL / Better, we will try to reschedule your booking to another time if you give us at least 22 days’ notice.
4. Respecting our staff and other customers
4.1 In booking and participating in an LVAC activity you agree to follow the instructions given by our staff.
4.2 If you do not act in accordance with these LVAC Terms and Conditions, you may be asked to leave LVAC without any entitlement to a refund.
4.3 Dangerous or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. If you are part of a group which causes a disturbance, the group will be treated as one and our staff have the right to remove the whole group from LVAC and no refunds will be given.
5. Liability
5.1 GLL / Better shall not be liable for:
5.1.1 any damage or loss of any property or items belonging to you, any member of your group or any third parties; or
5.1.2 personal injury or death of any person but only so far as such injury or death is not caused by GLL / Better's negligence.
6. LVAC policies and information
6.1 Smoking (including electronic cigarettes or any other artificial cigarettes or smoking devices) is not permitted anywhere within LVAC which includes all external areas.
6.2 Any person suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and therefore unfit to participate in an activity will be refused admission and shall not be entitled to a refund.
Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre

If you are unsure as to whether you are able to take part in any activity, or you have any questions concerning these Hockey and Tennis Centre Terms and Conditions, please contact us before booking.
For the purpose of these Hockey and Tennis Centre Terms and Conditions:
- Courts means the Outdoor Courts and the Indoor Courts.
- Hockey Pitch 1 means the grandstand and pitch connected to the main building within the Hockey and Tennis Centre
- Hockey Pitch 2 means the standalone pitch situated to the east of the main building within the Hockey and Tennis Centre.
- Hockey Pitches means Hockey Pitch 1 and Hockey Pitch 2.
- Hockey and Tennis Centre means the whole of Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre including the Outdoor Courts, Hockey Pitches, the Main Building (and Indoor Courts) and all external and surrounding areas occupied or used by GLL/Better
- Indoor Courts means the four indoor tennis courts within the Main Building.
- Main Building means the main building within the Hockey and Tennis Centre.
- Outdoor Courts means the six outdoor hard-court tennis courts within the Hockey and Tennis Centre
- You means the customer, being any person taking part in any activity at the Hockey and Centre.
1. Important Notices
1.1 Hockey and tennis carry inherent risks. You accept these risks and are responsible for your own actions and involvement.
1.2 By entering the Hockey and Tennis Centre, you have accepted, and agreed to comply with, these Hockey and Tennis Centre Terms and Conditions.
1.3 If you do not act in accordance with these Hockey and Tennis Centre Terms and Conditions, you may be asked to leave the Hockey and Tennis Centre without any entitlement to a refund.
1.4 In making a booking on behalf of a group, you are responsible for ensuring all group members comply with these Hockey and Tennis Centre Terms and Conditions.
1.5 No coaching services (whether or not for payment) may be carried out at the Hockey and Tennis Centre without the prior written consent of the general manager of the Hockey and Tennis Centre. Anyone found to be providing such services without the necessary consent may be asked to leave the Hockey and Tennis Centre without any entitlement to a refund.
2. Cancelling or re-scheduling a booking
2.1 If you decide to cancel your booking, you will not be entitled to a refund.
2.2 Subject to availability, you may reschedule your booking date within 10 calendar days of your original booking date if you provide us with at least 48 hours’ prior written notice by email at LVhockeyandtennis@gll.org or we can hold a credit on your account for you to use for a later booking.
2.3 Outdoor Courts: If extreme weather conditions prevent the use of the Outdoor Courts, at the sole discretion of our staff, you may be able to transfer your booking to an Indoor Court if one is available and subject to paying any applicable difference in price. Alternatively Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre reserves the right to offer an alternative session subject to availability.
3. Footwear and Clothing
3.1 Non-marking training shoes or tennis shoes must be worn whilst on the Courts at all times.
3.2 We recommend wearing hockey shoes designed for use on astro/synthetic pitches on the Hockey Pitches. Football boots must not be worn on the Hockey Pitches.
3.3 When at the Hockey and Tennis Centre you must wear a top at all times.
3.4 When using the Hockey Pitches, you will be playing as part of an organised group. Please follow the advice of the organiser regarding what clothing and safety equipment should be worn.
4. Hockey and Tennis Centre policies and information
4.1 Vehicles should not be left in the Hockey and Tennis Centre overnight. Any vehicles left overnight may be removed and removal and/or storage charges applied.
4.2 No dogs other than guide dogs kept on leads may be brought into the Hockey and Tennis Centre.
4.3 Smoking (including electronic cigarettes or any other artificial cigarettes or smoking devices) is not permitted anywhere within the Hockey and Tennis Centre.
4.4 If you wish to use sound or video recording equipment within the Hockey and Tennis Centre, please speak with a member of our staff before doing so.
4.5 GLL / Better accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage to any personal items brought into the Hockey and Tennis Centre.
4.6 GLL / Better accepts no responsibility for any information displayed or broadcast in the Hockey and Tennis Centre by any third party.
4.7 If you lose your Lee Valley membership card and need a replacement, a £5.00 administration fee will be charged.
4.8 Only food and alcohol purchased from the cafeteria and vending machines within the Hockey and Tennis Centre is allowed to be consumed within the Lee Valley Hockey and Tennis Centre.
5. Your responsibilities
5.1 Please follow all safety and information signs displayed around the Hockey and Tennis Centre.
5.2 Any accidents or incidents should be reported to a member of our staff before you leave the Hockey and Tennis Centre.
5.3 Please treat the property and facilities with care at all times. Any racquet, stick or equipment hired from us remains your responsibility until you have returned it.
5.4 After your activity, please take your equipment to reception as soon as you can so that it can be checked. We reserve the right to seek to recover from you the cost of replacing or repairing damaged equipment.
5.5 Please do not leave any items unattended.
6. Respecting our staff and customers
6.1 GLL/Better operates several activities simultaneously at the Hockey and Tennis Centre and therefore the facility is shared by a range of different customer groups. Please respect other players and be aware of your surroundings.
6.2 Please follow any instructions given by our staff.
6.3 Please do not distract others while they are participating in an activity.
6.4 Dangerous or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. If you are part of a group which causes a disturbance, the group will be treated as one and our staff have the right to remove the whole group from the Hockey and Tennis Centre and no refunds will be given. GLL /Better reserves the right to amend these Hockey and Tennis Centre Terms and Conditions from time to time and without notice.
Lee Valley Riding Centre

For the purpose of these terms:
- LVRC means Lee Valley Riding Centre
- You, means the customer, being any person taking part in any activity at the LVRC.
1 Important Notices
1.1 Riding is a risk sport, and animals can act unpredictably on occasion. All riding and equestrian activities carry inherent risks. You accept these risks and are responsible for your own actions and involvement.
1.2 All riders must complete a Rider Registration Form before their activity starts, which must be signed by a Parent/Guardian for children under 18.
1.3 If you or the person you are booking for has any disability, including but not limited to any learning disability or difficulties, an injury, physical disability, and/or physical or other medical conditions, you must contact us before booking on 03000 030 629 or LVriding@gll.org as the activity may not be suitable. We will need some detailed information and may need an assessment lesson so we can recommend the best activity for you.
1.4 For all public lessons including “Have a Go”, private lessons and birthday parties, the following applies:
- Age restrictions: minimum age 5 years for all group lessons.
- Weight restrictions: maximum weight 12 stone or 76kg
*Please note an additional weight restriction applies for riders with experience with canter. A maximum weight of 13 stone and 83kg
1.5 A place on a group lesson is subject to assessment by one of our instructors, who will recommend the most suitable lesson for you to join. You can be assessed on a private lesson.
1.6 Riding while pregnant is not permitted.
2. Cancelling or re-scheduling a booking; Late arrivals
2.1 For “Have a Go” lessons, groups and private lessons, cancellations received at least 48 hours prior to the lesson can be refunded or rescheduled. Cancellations received less than 48 hours prior to the lesson will not be refunded or rescheduled.
2.2 Own a Pony days: cancellations received 7 days prior to the activity date can be refunded or rescheduled. Cancellations received less than 7 days prior to the session will not be refunded or rescheduled.
2.3 Birthday Parties:
- Cancellations received more than 14 days before the party date – full refund
- Cancellations received 7 to 14 days before the party date – 50% refund
- Cancellations received less than 7 days before the party date – no refund
2.4 Courses:
- Cancellations received more than 14 days before the start of the course – full refund less cancellation fee of £50.00.
- Cancellations received less than 14 days before the start of the course – 30% refund
- Cancellations received after the course has started – no refund.
2.5 Late arrivals will not be admitted to any “Have a Go” sessions. We will not refund or reschedule activities missed due to lateness. Late arrivals are not permitted to join any Have a Go lesson.
3. Site Rules
3.1 A Rider Registration Form must be submitted for all participants before the activity can take place. (The form is available on our website and at reception). If this form is not submitted the booking will be cancelled and the cancellation clause 6 of these terms and conditions will apply.
3.2 Smoking: smoking, including e-cigarettes, is not permitted anywhere on the premises except the car park.
3.3 Do not feed the horses: it can be bad for their health and can make them nip.
3.4 Dogs: are welcome but must be kept under control and on a lead at all times.
3.5 Bicycles, skates, scooters, etc. are not permitted into the premises; prams and pushchairs must not be taken into the covered stable yard.
3.6 No ball games, running or shouting, picnic blankets or balloons.
3.7 All safety instructions given by staff must be obeyed.
3.8 Photography is permitted at LVRC subject to the following conditions:
- No flash photography
- No photography in reception area, changing rooms or toilets
- No photography when requested by a member of staff
- Videoing riding lessons is prohibited. Please respect our staff and do not video them at work.
3.9 You are aware others are permitted to take photographs on the premises where you or your child may be riding.
4. Children and Young People
4.1 The riding centre is a working yard with large animals and machinery, and is not a suitable place for unsupervised minors.
4.2 Children participating in an activity:
- Children aged under 8 years – their parent or responsible adult must remain on site for the duration of their activity.
- Children aged between 8 and 17 years – their parent or responsible adult need not be on site for the duration of the activity but must either be present to supervise the child immediately before and after, or ensure that their child arrives not more than 15 minutes before their activity and leaves immediately afterwards, as children are not supervised by riding centre staff before or after their activity.
4.3 Children found here unaccompanied will be asked to wait in Reception while their parent or guardian is contacted to collect them
5. Clothing
5.1 Long, loose fitting / stretchy trousers or jodhpurs; top with sleeves; strong shoes or boots with a small block heel - no footwear with flat soles.
5.2 Hard hats must be worn when riding at the Centre and by anyone under 18 years of age when handling horses and ponies. Riding hats must meet the current British Horse Society (BHS) standards. These can be found on the BHS website or on our notice board. All hats must have a British Standards Institute (BSI) Kitemark.
5.3 No facial piercing jewellery, no jewellery worn outside clothes except wedding rings.
5.4 A body protector must be worn for all jumping lessons. You must provide your own body protector.
5.5 You can hire the following from the centre: Hats: £3.00 per session. Hat hire is free for “Have a Go” customers. Boots are available to borrow free of charge.
5.6 GLL/Better reserves the right to inspect your riding hat and body protector. If, in our staff’s opinion, your equipment is not suitable for your activity, you will not be permitted to use it. Where possible, you will be able to hire equipment from us so that you can take part although we do not guarantee this.
5.7 If you choose to use your own equipment, you do so at your own risk and Better will not be liable for any damage or loss to it while it is at LVRC.
6. Bookings
6.1 All activities must be booked and paid for in advance, either online, in person or by telephone. Have a Go lessons can only be booked via our website. We cannot take bookings by email. Payment can be made by cash, debit or major credit card.
7. General Information
We require a minimum of 4 riders for each hour long group. If there are fewer riders, the length of the lesson may be reduced to 45 minutes as the activity will be more intense and strenuous for horse and rider. Whenever possible we will try to inform you in advance of changes to duration.
Activity instruction and guidance are given in English. In order to safely participate in any activity at LVRC you must be able to understand all instructions in full.
Lee Valley VeloPark

For the purpose of these VeloPark Terms and Conditions:
- Track Centre means the inner section of the Velodrome track.
- Velodrome means the actual building and inside areas of the velodrome at the VeloPark.
- VeloPark means the whole of Lee Valley VeloPark including the Velodrome, BMX track, Road circuit, Mountain Bike trails and all internal and surrounding areas occupied or used by GLL/ Better.
- You means the customer, being any person taking part in any activity at the VeloPark.
1. Important Notices
1.1 Cycling carries inherent risks. You accept these risks and are responsible for your own actions and involvement.
1.2 You must be able to ride a bike without stabilisers to take part in any activity at the VeloPark.
1.3 By entering the VeloPark, you have accepted, and agreed to comply with, these VeloPark Terms and Conditions.
1.4 If you do not act in accordance with these VeloPark Terms and Conditions you may be asked to leave the VeloPark without any entitlement to a refund.
1.5 In making a booking on behalf of a group, you are responsible for ensuring all group members comply with these VeloPark Terms and Conditions.
1.6 Riders completing any stage of the track accreditation pathway, including the taster must ride the track within a six month period to continue the accreditation process. Unaccredited riders who have not ridden the velodrome track within 6 months will need to repeat the stage they last completed. Stage 4 accredited riders are recommended to ride the velodrome track at least once every 12 months to maintain their accreditation status.
2. Cancelling or re-scheduling a booking
2.1 If you decide to cancel your booking you will not be entitled to a refund. However, if you give us at least 5 days’ notice, we will try to re-schedule your original booking to another time. An administration fee of £5.00 per rider will be payable to re-schedule your booking. Bookings can only be rescheduled once.
2.2 If you give us less than 5 days notice, we will not be able to re-schedule your booking (and you will not be entitled to a refund).
2.3 Booking more than six spaces per session is not permitted. Bookings with more than six spaces will be cancelled and no refund or rescheduling will be offered.
2.4 All purchases are non-transferable and are not for resale.
3. Young cyclists
3.1 Children aged 11 and under are not allowed on the Velodrome track unless part of an affiliated club session or course.
3.2 Children aged 11 and under must be accompanied and supervised at all times by a parent/guardian while at the VeloPark.
3.3 Should the child be participating in a ‘coached’ session the parent / guardian should remain in the area indicated by the coach during the safety briefing and / or follow meeting instructions given.
3.4 Children aged 12 and over do not require parent / guardian supervision however it is strongly recommended.
3.5 Pay and ride times are available to children on the Road circuit, the Mountain Bike trails and skills section and the BMX and Pump tracks if they are accompanied as follows:

Children under the age of 18 must provide a signed parental/guardian consent form to participate in any activity.
3.7 Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for VeloStudio sessions.
4. Bike safety information and guidance
4.1 If the activity involves a safety briefing, you must arrive in time to take part in the briefing in full before cycling. In our experience, being fitted for the right bike and equipment before a session can take approximately 30 minutes.
4.2 If you do not understand any aspect of the safety briefing given to you, please ask for clarification at the time of the briefing, before you cycle.
4.3 Each hire bike can only be used for the activity for which it has been designed.
4.4 You must not take any bike hired from us outside of the VeloPark (which includes the car park). Please note that all our bikes are computer-chipped.
4.5 Bikes must not be ridden inside the Velodrome other than on the track and in the Track Centre. Bikes should also not be ridden on the external concourse.
4.6 You must only cycle in the direction of travel indicated for each activity.
4.7 We advise you not to eat within 2 hours of the start of your session. We also advise you not to eat or chew gum whilst cycling.
4.8 If you weigh more than 109 kgs (17st 2lbs) or are under 1.3 metres (4ft 5in) tall and want to hire a bike from us, please call us before making a booking so that we can discuss your requirements.
4.9 If you are using the Mountain Bike trails we recommend you ‘buddy up’ with another cyclist for safety. We also recommend that you keep your mobile phone with you on the Mountain Bike trails, in case of emergencies.
4.10 You will need to have successfully completed the BMX taster session which is used as the induction to our pay and ride sessions.
4.11 Cycling while pregnant is only permitted on the outside road circuit for health and safety reasons.
5. Bringing your own equipment
5.1 GLL / Better reserves the right to inspect your bike and equipment. Please ensure your bike is clean. If, in our staff’s opinion, your bike or equipment is not suitable for your activity, where possible, you will be able to hire a bike or equipment from us so that you can take part.
5.2 If you choose to use your own bike/equipment, you do so at your own risk and the GLL / Better will not be liable for any damage or loss to it while it is at the VeloPark.
Helmets
5.3 Cycling helmets must be worn for all activities except VeloStudio sessions. All helmets must meet the applicable British safety standard (currently BS EN 1078:1997).
5.4 Helmets must be correctly fitted, in good condition and display CE markings.
5.5 Your helmet must not have a peak or anything attached to it if you are using the Velodrome track. You are allowed to attach a camera to your own helmet for the outdoor activities.
5.6 You must have a full-face helmet if you are using the BMX track.
Bikes
5.7 Your bike must be suitable for the specific activity you have booked
5.8 The specifications required for each activity will be:
Velodrome track bikes
- only purpose built track bikes may be ridden on the velodrome track
- the bike must be in good condition and undamaged
- the bike must be the correct size for the rider
- the bike must have a fixed wheel drivetrain
- 165-170mm cranks with a bottom bracket height of 285mm or greater (measured from floor to centre of bottom bracket)
- the frame must not have braze-ons or extraneous fittings
- the frame must have track ends
- tyres/tubulars must be in good condition
- tyres/tubulars must be 21-25mm wide
- tyres/tubulars must not have coloured tread
- tyres/tubulars must be cleaned before entering the track
- no michelin tyres/tubulars or other dual compounds are not permitted
- tyres/tubulars must be correctly inflated to the manufacturer’s specifications
- tubulars must be correctly glued and not taped
- new tyres/tubulars must be cleaned with white vinegar or isopropyl alcohol prior to use on the track
- tyres that have been used outdoors must be cleaned with a damp cloth and dried before riding the track.
- the wheels must be of the same size front and rear
- the wheels must be spoked (not disc) for all taster and accreditation sessions
- the handlebars must be drop bars and have bar tape/grips and bar-ends (aerobars are permitted only in specific sessions)
- brake levers or callipers must not be fitted
- spare sprockets must not be fitted to double sided hubs
- quick release wheel axles are not permitted
- wheel axles should not extend beyond the track nuts
- mandatory gearing for all riders on taster sessions - 84” (47x15 or 50x16)
- the chain tension should be tight enough to avoid derailing but not so tight it ‘binds’ the drivetrain
- chain, sprocket and chainring should not be excessively worn
- devices such as bike computers or digital displays must not be fitted
- pedals must be either:
- road/track specific clipless pedals with adequate tension and cleats in good condition, or:
- traditional pedals with toeclips and straps
- other pedal types, including MTB/touring clipless pedals and Velcro strapped pedals are not permitted
BMX / Pump track bikes
- only purpose built BMX bikes may be ridden on the BMX track
- a lever operated working rear brake
- no mounted accessories (mudguards, reflectors, stands or any other protruding parts) are permitted
- no stunt pegs/nuts on wheel axles are permitted
- wheel axles must not protrude more than 5mm past the hub nuts
- handlebar grips are mandatory and must cover the bar ends
Mountain Bike trail bikes
- only purpose built mountain bikes may be ridden on the mountain bike trails
- two working brakes
- no stunt pegs/nuts on wheel axles are permitted
- handlebar grips are mandatory and must cover the bar ends
Road circuit bikes
- only purpose built conventional and adapted bikes for cyclists with disabilities may be ridden on the road circuit during pay and ride sessions
- bikes must have working brakes, front and rear. Stabilisers are not permitted.
- stunt pegs/nuts on wheel axles are not permitted
- bar tape/handlebar grips are mandatory and bar ends must be plugged and covered
- vehicles with fairings, rickshaws, skateboards, third party hire bikes, roller blades and other wheeled based equipment are not permitted during pay and ride sessions*
- fixed wheel bikes must be fitted with a working front brake*
* fixed wheel bikes without brakes, vehicles with fairings, skateboards, roller blades, etc are only permitted during specific allocated times or private hire bookings.
6. What to wear
6.1 Gloves must be worn for cycling on the Velodrome and BMX tracks and we recommend them for all activities.
6.2 We recommend wearing close-fitting clothing with two layers on the upper body for all activities.
6.3 When cycling at the VeloPark you must wear a top at all times.
6.4 When cycling the velodrome track your shoulders must be covered.
6.5 When using the BMX track your arms and legs must be completely covered at all times and we recommend the use of body armour.
6.6 If you are hiring our cleat shoes you must wear socks.
6.7 To ensure your safety, we recommend removing all jewellery before cycling.
6.8 Using headphones, earphones or earpieces is not permitted while cycling.
7. Lee Valley VeloPark policies and information
7.1 The car park opening and closing times vary depending on the venue’s programme, the car park is locked 15 minutes after the venue closes. Vehicles should not be left at the VeloPark overnight. Any vehicles left overnight may be removed and removal and/or storage charges applied.
7.2 No dogs other than guide dogs kept on leads may be brought into the VeloPark.
7.3 Only food and alcohol purchased from the cafeteria and vending machines within the VeloPark is allowed to be consumed within the Lee Valley VeloPark.
7.4 Smoking (including electronic cigarettes or any other artificial cigarettes or smoking devices) is not permitted anywhere within the VeloPark.
7.5 The general public are permitted to take photographs from the designated public viewing areas only. Professional photography is not permitted without prior written consent from Lee Valley VeloPark.
7.6 If you wish to use sound or video recording equipment within the VeloPark, prior written consent from Lee Valley VeloPark is required.
7.7 GLL / Better accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft or damage to any personal items brought into the VeloPark.
7.8 GLL / Better accepts no responsibility for any information displayed or broadcast in the VeloPark by any third party.
7.9 If you lose your membership card and need a replacement, a £5.00 administration fee will be charged.
Your responsibilities
8.1 Please follow all safety and information signs displayed around the VeloPark.

8.3 Please ensure the activity strap provided to you is attached to your helmet at all times.
8.4 Please treat the property and facilities with care at all times. Any bike or equipment hired from us remains your responsibility until you have returned it.
8.5 After your activity, please take your hire bike to the equipment hire room as soon as you can so that it can be checked. We reserve the right to seek to recover from you the cost of replacing or repairing damaged equipment.
8.6 Cleated shoes may only be worn within the Track Centre.
8.7 Please do not leave any items unattended. Please respect the changing rooms as they are used by a wide range of customers.
9. Respecting our staff and other cyclists
9.1 GLL / Better operates several activities simultaneously at the VeloPark and therefore the facility is shared by a range of different customer groups. Please respect other cyclists and be aware of your surroundings.
9.2 Please follow any instructions given by our staff.
9.3 Please do not distract others while they are cycling.
9.4 You must not spit or clear your nose onto the Velodrome track surface.
9.5 Dangerous or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. If you are part of a group which causes a disturbance, the group will be treated as one and our staff have the right to remove the whole group from the VeloPark and no refunds will be given.
10. Merchandise
10.1 We will provide a full refund if the merchandise is returned unused and in unopened packaging within 14 days from the date of purchase.
10.2 In the event that the merchandise is faulty or damaged, a refund or exchange will be processed if returned within 28 days from the date of purchase.
10.3 You must retain and produce the original proof of purchase in order to exercise clauses 10.1 and 10.2.
GLL / Better reserves the right to amend these Lee Valley VeloPark Terms and Conditions from time to time and without notice.

For the purposes of these terms:
- LVWWC means Lee Valley White Water Centre;
- you means the customer, being any person taking part in any activity at the LVWWC.
1. Important Notices
1.1 All activities available at the LVWWC carry inherent risks. You accept these risks and are responsible for your own actions and involvement. Bank Safety staff are present at all sessions, however during public paddling sessions participants are expected to exercise self-saving where possible during their session.
1.2 To take part in the activities available at the LVWWC you should be in good physical health and able to undertake and successfully complete the relevant activity assessment.
1.3 If you are pregnant or might be pregnant, we advise you do not take part in any of our activities.
1.4 By entering the LVWWC, you have accepted, and agreed to comply with, these LVWWC Terms and Conditions.
1.5 In making a booking on behalf of a group, you are responsible for ensuring all group members comply with these LVWWC Terms and Conditions.
1.6 You will only be able to partake in your chosen activity if the LVWWC staff are satisfied with the fitting of your personal protection equipment.
1.7 Buoyancy aids must be worn for all water activities.
1.8 The buoyancy aids used at LVWWC cannot support body weights in excess of 114 kilograms (18 stone) for water activities therefore you will not be able to participate in water activities if your body weight exceeds 114 kilograms (18 stone).
1.9 LVWWC staff can assist any customers who have questions regarding sizing and the fitting of safety equipment. Please telephone LVWWC to discuss any questions you may have before booking.
1.10 The LVWWC will try to meet customer requests for grouping individuals together for White Water Rafting or Rodeo Rafting, however this cannot be guaranteed. To ensure a group of individuals will not be split up, customers are recommended to book a whole raft.
1.11 Please note that if you fail an activity assessment or decide to stop participating in an activity at any time, you will not be entitled to a refund.
2. Children and Young People
2.1 Children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult at all times throughout their visit to LVWWC.
2.2 Participants 11-17 years must have a parent or guardian on site at all times during their visit to LVWWC
2.3 A Parental/Guardian Consent Form signed by a parent or guardian must be submitted for all participants under 18 years old before the taking part in a moving water activity can take place (the form is available on our website, alternatively please ask us for a copy). If this form is not submitted the booking will be cancelled and the cancellation conditions in clause 3 of these LVWWC Terms and Conditions will apply.
2.4 Age restrictions apply to the following activities:

3. Cancellation
3.1 If you would like to cancel a booking, contact us by email at LVwhitewater@gll.org or by telephone on 03000 030 616.
3.2 Where we receive a cancellation request the following refund policy will apply:
3.2.1 for requests received at least 22 days before the activity start date a 75% refund will be given;
3.2.2 for requests received between 8 and 21 days before the activity start date a 50% refund will be given; and
3.2.3 for requests received 7 or fewer days before the activity start date no refund will be given.
4. Rescheduling
If, for any reason, you would like to reschedule your booking, GLL/Better will do its best to assist you. Subject to availability, and at the sole discretion of GLL/Better, you may reschedule the date, time and/or type of activity booked up to 22 days before the activity start date. Bookings cannot be rescheduled within 22 days of the date, unless a medical note is provided and submitted within 7 days. An administration fee of £5.00 per rescheduled booking will be charged. This does not apply to canoe or kayak individual bookings.
5. Equipment, Instruction and Supervision
5.1 If you choose to use your own craft/equipment it is your responsibility to ensure that the craft/equipment is of satisfactory quality and fit for the purpose of the activity undertaken. If you have any concerns regarding the compliance of your equipment you should, at the time of booking, contact the LVWWC and you will be provided with advice.
5.2 GLL / Better reserves the right to inspect your craft/equipment. GLL/Better will not be held liable for any losses (and for the avoidance of doubt no refund will be given) if GLL/Better refuses to allow any craft/equipment to be used which, in our staff’s opinion, is unsafe, unclean or not suitable for the relevant activity.
5.3 The training and instruction you may receive from LVWWC staff is specific to the LVWWC environment. Better does not guarantee that the skills learnt on any LVWWC activity will be transferable to any other activity which carries inherently different risks.
5.4 Safety briefings are given in English. In order to safely participate in any activity at LVWWC you must be able to understand the briefing in full. If you do not understand any aspect of the safety briefing given to you, please ask for clarification at the time of the briefing, before you participate in the activity.
6. Respecting our staff and other customers
6.1 In booking and participating in an LVWWC activity you agree to follow the instructions given by our staff.
6.2 If you do not act in accordance with these LVWWC Terms and Conditions you may be asked to leave the LVWWC without any entitlement to a refund.
6.3 Dangerous or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated. If you are part of a group which causes a disturbance, the group will be treated as one and our staff have the right to remove the whole group from the LVWWC and no refunds will be given.
7. Liability
7.1 GLL / Better shall not be liable for:
7.1.1 any damage or loss of any property or items belonging to you, any member of your group or any third parties; or
7.1.2 personal injury or death of any person but only so far as such injury or death is not caused by GLL/Better's negligence.
8. LVWWC policies and information
8.1 Smoking (including electronic cigarettes or any other artificial cigarettes or smoking devices) is not permitted anywhere within the LVWWC which includes the car park and all external areas.
8.2 Any person suspected to be under the influence of alcohol and therefore unfit to participate in an activity will be refused admission and shall not be entitled to a refund.
