Incredible turnout as Lee Valley Ice Centre draws hundreds on opening day
We’re thrilled to announce that the highly anticipated Lee Valley Ice Centre has officially opened its doors to the public. It was great to have so many of you at the jam-packed opening day! All in all, we had an incredible turnout of over 900 people with everyone excited to give these state of the art facilities a try.
It was certainly a memorable day of ice-filled fun as families, friends and colleagues all explored the two Olympic-sized ice rinks - taking to the ice for the first time in the new venue! It was great to see even more customers taking to the impressive gym space and fitness class studios with everyone coming together to make the most of the £30 millions project.
Gavin Pearce, General Manager at Lee Valley Ice Centre, said: “It was such a brilliant day, from seeing old faces return to welcoming hundreds of new faces into our brand new Lee Valley Ice Centre.
“We’re delighted with how the opening day went and we’re now hoping for plenty more exciting days ahead. We’re hoping to see all of you back at the venue very soon.”
On the day, it was incredibly special to work once again with our clubs and partners including Lee Valley Ice Skating Club and Lee Valley Lions who also took the opportunity to showcase their skills and passion through captivating demonstrations.
It was a fantastic opening day following a successful press launch earlier in the week that gained coverage from BBC London, ITV London and Evening Standard among many others.
