West View winter programme information
Last updated 21st November 2022 Our CEO, Mark Sesnan OBE, recently wrote to members to let you know of the challenges we face as a business due to the national energy crisis and changes to the timetable we may have to introduce at your local Better centre. After careful review, we'll be introducing a revised winter programme at West View Leisure Centre While we've worked to introduce a range of energy saving initiatives our energy costs in Preston have more than tripled since 2019 and with no central Government or other financial support this is unfortunately not sustainable. We hope that the energy crisis and supply chain issues will eventually be resolved, but for now need to take immediate action to help offset the financial pressures we are facing and to ensure we can keep your leisure facilities open over the coming months. |

Where can I find the updated timetable for my local Better centre? We will be implementing the revised winter timetable from 28/11/22. Our website and the Better App has been updated with these changes which you'll be able to find by tapping the button below. If you're planning to swim or attend a fitness or group cycle class, please ensure you pre-book your session via the Better App to ensure that the session is running and that you have your space reserved. |
Why are we doing this? We understand that a reduction in service may be disappointing, but we're doing everything we can to minimise the impact on our customers and balance the needs of our diverse range of user groups from schools and clubs to families and individuals. We're doing this by ensuring that:
The aim of these actions is to save as much energy as possible to help offset the increased costs whilst minimizing the impact on our community. You'll appreciate that over the winter months, when it's colder and darker, we have to use more energy and as such it's a key time to make savings. |
Thank you for your continued support On behalf of everyone at Better, I would like to apologise for the inconvenience that the changes to our programme may cause you, but hope this letter goes some way to explaining why we have had to take these steps. Should you have any questions or feedback, please speak to our team in your local leisure centre or alternatively, get in touch with us by tapping the "Get in touch" link at the bottom of this email. Thank you for your understanding and support. Best wishes, Michael Manley Partnership Manager |
