LONDON YOUTH GAMES
London Youth Games 2023 is well underway and the competitions are coming thick and fast. Over the next few weeks hundreds of Greenwich's best young athletes will be preparing to face off against athletes from surrounding boroughs in one of the most exciting periods of the year. Having already competed in sports such as trampolining and cross country this season, team Greenwich will be looking to add to the success of these teams as we hope to climb further up the table. Sports such as Basketball, Para-swimming and Tennis are all set to commence in the next few weeks and to keep as up to date as possible with our teams' progress be sure to check this site or follow our instagram.
Whilst a lot of the teams are no decided there are still some spots for some of our sports so if you are interested in getting involved please do get in touch.
The London Youth Games (LYG) is Europe’s largest youth multi-sports competition offering a unique experience for young people in London. This multi-sport event offers opportunities for young people aged 7 to 18 across the Capital to grow and excel in various sports. The Lonbdon Youth Games are contested between the 32 London boroughs annually, running from November to July. 25 different sports make up the LYG competitions, taking place at various locations across the capital.
Greenwich Sport Development is commissioned to manage the LYG on behalf of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. Working in partnership with schools, sports clubs and community groups, we facilitate the selection of participants to take part in LYG training sessions and competitions throughout the year.
